Astral Hope

An individual who collects the many wishes that travel through the stars. They preserve these wishes as records of the hopes and dreams of those who live in the universe. On many worlds they are referred to as the “Wish Collector”. But on rare occasions they are called the “Wish Bearer”. There are rare situations where they may grant a wish to a special individual. To this day, no one knows how the collector decides who to bequeath a wish to. And the wish they grant may not always follow the original wish made, but ultimately, those who have their wish granted find happiness in their lifetime.

Grey is a shapeshifter whose body is littered with black scales which, unlike the rest of their body, remain unmoved and unchanged whenever they shift their physical form. They were born and raised in a community of travelling shapeshifters whose lifestyle was very fluid, sharing possessions and identities alike meant there was no real sense to ownership among individuals and bodies, personalities and roles would shift from person to person.
The first item Grey ever kept to themself, hidden away from their friends and neighbours and guarded as something of a personal treasure, was a simple paper crane they were handed at a festival when they were around 8 years of age. It was embracing this aspect of themself, this desire to keep personal treasures, which lead to them first tapping into their innate magical ability, creating a brief gust of air which lifted the crane from their hand and caused it to hover briefly.

The prince was never supposed to be born. His parents had tried for children for years and years, yet nothing sprouted. When they finally held their little prince, his parents were overjoyed! They wished nothing but the best for their future offspring, and did everything possible to ensure a bright future. Including sending a summons to a faerie to bless the newborn. Overexuberent (and a little worried by financial troubles - children are expensive) they commanded the faerie who had begrudgingly appeared to bless their son with wealth and prosperity. But the fae do not appreciate summons or orders. The faerie did exactly as the parents asked and left, their summons completed. From now on, everything their son touched would turn to gold. After the first… accident, when the toddler prince brushed the hand of his nanny, the prince was kept locked away. He grew up in a golden, glittering isolation.

an unnamed and nearly forgotten deity of life and death. they wander deep, lush forests and old ruins in the process of being lost to time. they are honoured by a secretive few, mostly witches and those with knowledge of old and arcane rites. their name has long been lost to time so many practitioners refer to them by a nickname or just ‘the lost one’. prayed and called upon for healing, life, and wellness, as well as peaceful passing, comfort in grief, and to bring a loved ones soul to a peaceful afterlife. the cultures this deity originates from are nearly as forgotten as the lost one themselves. scholars and archaeologists are still trying to find more about them, but are not optimistic.

The crooning of a mournful voice reverberates through the dark and empty halls of a tavern, hidden deep in the woods, at the end of a dirt path long-since abandoned and overgrown.  Or, what remains of a tavern deep in the woods at the end of a overgrown path.  The walls are blackened and crumbling.  The windows have all been broken, save for one, where a strange figure has sometimes been seen - sitting, staring out with wide eyes.  Anyone who dares approach will be welcomed by the sound of a sad song, and anyone who has the gall to stand and listen might hear the tale of the soul that now haunts those grounds…  the tale of love, of loss, of power, and of weakness.  Of course, if anyone ever really bothered to investigate, they’d find that this specter was only a ghost in a metaphorical sense.  Physically, they were very much alive - but is living really living without anything to live for?

~ outfit design:

~ character info:

When the people of the City By The Sea cast their children into the waves, some return changed. But some never return. It is believed that they are caught by the currents, or that they perish. But for a few, the lure of the Other City beneath the waves is too strong. The call of the sea inescapable. For those, the vastness of the world beneath the waves is a realm they spend the rest of their lives exploring. For one such child, even the splendor of Other City, shining in the deep waters, is a paltry beacon compared to the wonders of the greater depths. Sometimes, a child is called so far from home that there is no return. And the ocean claims them.

It is not a fate to be mourned, as the lost children in the currents. For it is a return to their origins. For all the people of the City By The Sea were once children of the waves. And it is only the youngest of their kind that sought refuge upon the land. For the sea has its wonders. And the sea has its perils. But for all of them, it is to the sea they return eventually. And some, perhaps, are called sooner than the rest.

The Spiritfarer

Posted 03/20/21

Oh to be a little sea slug again.
Blubbing and bobbing in the currents and eating the tasty morsels in the deep.
Exploring the wreckage and corals until you come upon a little lamp
Poking it tentatively. Food? Not food. But a flash of light! Stange! New!
Oddly painful to your photosensitive patches. Patches? No, now they are eyes.
Did the being you freed read a wish in your secret heart? Or did it place one there itself, while it was growing your heart? How would you ever know? Whatever was in your heart before, it’s now filled with a thirst for adventure, a need to explore, and the realization you’re now something very new, no longer just a leetle slug nibbling your way across the ocean floor.

You’re walking in the woods. There is no one around, and phones don’t exist in the cave.
Out of the corner of your eye you spot her—Shiri the Fluff.
She’s peeking at you, about 10 feet back. She’s on all fours and coming at a crawl, she’s gaining on you!
Shiri the Fluff
You’re looking for your cart, but it’s nowhere to be found. She’s almost upon you now, and you can see there’s snow on her cape. By gosh, there’s snow everywhere!

Running through the snow, toward Shiri the Fluff. Her body’s getting cold, poor Shiri the Fluff.
The moon is casting shadows. Quickly! Life is fading from Shiri the Fluff.
You’re stuck in the woods, with Shiri the Fluff. There’s no one to help Shiri the Fluff.
You must heat her body, or say goodbye to Shiri the Fluff.

Now it’s dark. The snow is coming down, and you’ve hopelessly lost yourselves—stranded with a freezing girl.
You carry her slowly through the snow drifts.
Aha! In the distance, a small cave for shelter. Hope!
You move steadily toward it, but wait! Ah! The cave’s a bear den!

Shiri whimpers lowly. Be quiet, quiet.
The bear’s ear twitches. Quiet, quiet.
Now it’s looking toward you—gaze locked on Shiri the Fluff.
Turning to run, with Shiri the Fluff.
You can’t get caught, with Shiri the Fluff.
You must save your daughter, your precious little Shiri the Fluff.

It’s too late. No! Shiri the Fluff!
The bear tears her from you, your Shiri the Fluff.
Your cry in alarm, but the bear drags away Shiri the Fluff.

You limp into the cave, hoping it’s not too late…for Shiri the Fluff…

To Be Contined~

In a remote aquatic cave, with lots of rivers and pools, wetlands and rocky corners inbetween, a Blue Sky Butterfly fox Ineki runs a cafe and tea house. It lies underwater and is hidden deep down in a pond, thus you must be somehow able to dive there on your own. This cafe promises a serene ambience - you can look out of the windows and watch all the dwellers of the pond - so that the custumer can relaxe and forget their troubles for a bit. However, you can only visit it with a personal invitation, as the rather shy owner is not very keen on meeting too many new faces.

Twin tails stirred up a cloud of dust as the officer chased after the thief.

She scrambled up the surrounding rocks get to the opening above, following the smaller figure into the darkness. Continuing a few steps further down, the Ineki caught a glimpse of flashing steel, causing her to swing at it with her own weapon. Suddenly, the blade changed directions to slip underneath the dark-furred cat’s with ease, forcing her to backpedal only to feel the touch of chilled metal press against her neck.

Now that they were closer to the entrance, she could make the masked outline of the stranger, four pairs of wings rising up behind them. Another forced step back and she could see a single green eye peering at her from a delicate face framed with dark red hair.

And for what seemed like an eternity, the two remained an arm’s length apart, bright blue orbs swinging towards the escaping criminal as the sound of claws on rock faded. Finally, her masked captor released her, their multicolored eye boring into her, a warning to flee.

And that she did, running back to the safety of the lit streets as her heartbeat echoed in her ears.

Slides in last minute

A being of pure magic, feared by the mortal denizens of her forest, though she is a gentle soul and would never harm anything that lives within her domain. She was created when a magician’s spell went awry, as uncontrolled energies sought out a form. Her presence gives the forest a supernatural vitality; flowers bloom in her footsteps, feeding on the magic she leaves in the wake of her passing. Her only companions are the creatures of the forest, who do not fear her strange appearance; sometimes villagers leave offerings for her in a glade, which she uses to adorn herself. Besides this she has little contact with humans, though she does harbor some curiosity about them.
