[FORUM ACTIVITY] Meowcena Cafe - Menu Creation - Ended!


Like to cook? Enjoy sharing your favorite foods with others? Then you’re just the person the Meowcena Cave cat cafe was hoping to see. Although there are plenty of cats in the kitchen, no one seems able to put together an enticing menu. The cafe’s staff will be grateful for any recipe you can provide—just please don’t listen if they insist your dish needs more fish!

Instructions

Create art of a drink, pastry, sandwich, or other food you could find at a cafe* along with a menu description of your food item. The drink, pastry, or sandwich you choose can be something “normal” or something completely bizarre (perhaps that only a cat would like)!

*anything you could reasonably find at a small cafe! Think along the lines of Starbucks or little local joint!

Purrfection Pie

A blend of artisan cheeses were whipped with love to create the creamiest cheesecake with a distinctly sharp and pungent flavor. Topped with a juicy cut of tuna sashimi and drizzled with fresh cat grass glaze, every bite is decadent and reminiscent of a summer day spent raiding the neighbor’s pond. Salmontorte

Using only the finest Belgian chocolate, this dense chocolate cake, topped with a layer of King Salmon jam, is a fresh take on the traditional Sachertorte that will have you coming back for more! Served with a dollop of whipped cream, and a dark chocolate fish decoration.
Rich and decadent, you couldn’t find a better way to treat yourself after that long day of clawing up couches!

Mackerel Macke-rons

Mackerel wild caught from the purist shores in the cave is finely-shredded and imparted into airy dough to make this macaron. Its light and spongy, cake-like interior with a crisp shell lends to a pastry that melts in your mouth! The full-bodied flavor of the fish is briny and sharp on the taste buds, complimented by a creamy, silky filling of mild tuna. Each macaron is hand-garnished with a delicate honey soy syrup that livens up the palate further. Approved to be feline divine!

Ultra-Kawaii Pastel Donut

The sweetest, sugary-ist, most kawaii donut has finally arrived and you know you need it as soon as humanly possible. With a decadent (and cute) pink buttercream frosting and fresh-baked donut dough (the likes of which melt in your mouth in the most delightful way), the Ultra-Kawaii Pastel Donut is sure to go down in history as the most delectable donut to have ever been concocted. Featuring two varieties with the traditional “Pastel Heart Sprinkle” type and the “UWU” type. Warning: both could cause you to spontaneously combust into a shower of pastel confetti OR see the world entirely in pastel rainbows. Do not eat the “UWU” variety if you have a heart condition.

The Fortuna

Lucky!
On a bed of lettuce lays an oven-baked breaded tuna with tartar sauce between two slices of toasted bread of your choosing. The slices of bread are made daily and all share a fish symbol toasted onto the top. Freshly caught from the nearest shores, the tuna used for this dish is said to bring luck to those who eat it. It alone is perfection in every bite, crispy on the outside and wonderfully tender on the inside. Accompanying the tuna is the creamy tartar sauce that is infused with dill and is lightly drizzled over.

I just want to remind everyone that this is a Cafe, not a five star restaurant! Please make sure that your entries fall into the categories specified in the instructions — we’ve expanded them to not only be limited to coffee, pastries, and sandwiches, but include anything you could reasonably find at a small cafe. If you can’t buy it at Starbucks or that trendy little hole-in-the-wall coffee shop downtown, we don’t have the ingredients to make it here!

*out of sensitivity for others who shouldn’t see my art ,particularly since MS paint was actually better than my current teething issues with my recent change to an equivalent in MacBook’s ‘Paint’ o.0. I didn’t think it could get worse, but then this happened. Spoiler tag’s there for a reason, but i’ve sweated, deleted so many times over and restarted etc.  This actually IS the good art.

Mister’s Dilly-icious Crab Cakes

These lightly sauteed and tenderly prepared crisp edged crab cakes are formed lovingly into patties each morning.  The chefs wait for the crab boats to bump into the docks, delivering the freshly caught local Dungenous crabs.  The succulent crabmeat is mixed with locally pastured organic eggs and lightly breaded with almond flour and dazzling Creamery fresh butter before being pan fried and sprinkled with fresh locally grown dill.  The result is a tantilizing crab cake that will melt in your mouth.  So fresh the ocean hasn’t even missed them!

Raspurry Bismarck

This delectable dough is made fresh every day and is fried to perfection! It is then filled with a scrumptious sweet and tart raspberry jam (also made fresh in house) that is truly and utterly mouth watering. Then, the pastry is topped with a thin layer of powdered sugar and a generous dollop of freshly whipped catnip infused cream, and finally finished off with a raspberry for garnish.

Midori had a high demand to make fresh cake pops daily. She usually stamped them with a lotus ineki symbol to signify her limited time spring flavor was available, but all these darn cats make ineki symbols confusing. Midori decided to rebrand the item with a kitty pun instead, even if no pawprint were to be found.

Yum… This thing smells absolutely heavenly! Made with only the finest tinned tuna, this sandwich will drive you crazy. The bread is baked to perfection and then toasted just so, its outsides crunchy and the middle soft and almost untoasted. Is that also a hint of catnip you detect!? This decadent chocolate treat appears simple at first glance, but don’t underestimate it! Hand-harvested walnuts from the Farloe Caverns are mixed enticingly into the treat, surprises for any Mycenian intrepid enough to try this marvelous morsel. This scrumptiously sweet and savory treat is sure to tantalize every tastebud. The smooth and creamy catnip-infused marzipan is carefully and lovingly hand-mixed by our experienced bakers each morning, perfectly complimenting the oven-fresh artisan buns, the dough blended from only the finest imported organic flour and free-range, farm-raised yeast. 6-Life Croissant (and mini cats’-paw)

This decadant viemeowserie allegedly gets its name from the number of lives it took the inventor, Hannah Whisker, to perfect the recipe in 1638. Endless layers of delicate, flakey, buttery pastry forms a classic croissant, with a dark chocolate fish design piped by hand onto each as they cool. Only 12 6-life croissants are made each Saturday morning.

Also available are a “cat’s paw” pastry, a mini strawberry roll with black licorice claws, perfect for the littles to munch on while you’re waiting in line for a 6-life croissant.

Cat Grass & Mint Shake

This sweet shake is a blend of fresh cream, locally grown cat grass, and a hint of mint, topped with a plump, jumbo shrimp, guaranteed to have been caught at sun-up. *To see our greens of the day, please see the houseplants that have been placed in the shop windows. You are free to request specific plants but our cream shake expert recommends whatever plant the nearest human seems to be most fond of. Said plant cannot take attention from you if it has been thoroughly chewed. ;) And a little bit of potted plant destruction spite will make your creamy treat that much tastier.
