Getting Started

From the Adventures page, you can create a new adventure by clicking on the “create or manage your adventure” button, and then on the “create new adventure” button. This will take you to the Description page.

The first step to making an adventure is to set it up in the Description page. Anything in this page can be changed later, and automatically updates to the adventure itself, even if it’s been published.

Title What the adventure is called, and how it will display in both the management page and the adventure listing.
Tags Tags are what allow your adventure to show up in searches for related adventures.

For example!
If your adventure is a mystery set in a fantasy world, selecting tags for “fantasy” and “mystery” would make your adventure show up to adventurers searching for a fantasy or a mystery adventure. Tags are also visible to the adventurer, helping them to decide whether the collection of tags in your adventure sounds like something they would enjoy playing through.

One Line Description This is a short and sweet description that shows up in the adventure listing. This should give potential adventurers a rough idea as to what your adventure is about, and make your adventure appealing to them.
Embark Page This is a longer introduction to your adventure. While the specifics may vary depending on the type of adventure you’re making, it most often takes the form of backstory, setting details, or important context for your adventure.
Canon/Non-Canon Canon adventures are adventures that take place within the setting and lore of Mycena Cave, whereas non-canon adventures can take place in any other setting.
Number The number of adventurers who can participate in one instance of an adventure. This has a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 4.

It is possible to make the inner workings of your adventure visible to other Mycena Cave players by clicking the “Allow other players to view this adventure’s internals”. This will allow people to see (but not edit) the backend of your adventure if you’ve given them the link.

Careful!
No adventure should begin without proper planning! Make sure you take the time to plan the path of your adventure before it starts getting bigger and more complex than you wanted!
