[EVENT] Legend of the Lost Trove Wrap-up & Feedback Survey

Congratulations, everyone, on uncovering (one of) Captain Kitt’s legendary troves! Now that the location of the treasure has been widely spread, you can expect that everything will be scavenged within a week. Make sure that you take a look before 23:59 ST on September 7th if you want your fair share of the spoils!

With the event at its conclusion, we are excited to hear some of your opinions on its activities, structure, and story. You can find a feedback survey located here!

For every 20 survey submissions we receive, we will be raffling off 1 random equippable item from the event. In order to be eligible for the raffle, please be sure to include your username in the form! Of course, you are also more than welcome to remain anonymous if you would prefer to do so.

This survey will remain open until the prize shop closes, at 23:59 ST on September 7th, and the results will be compiled and summarized shortly thereafter.

Thank you to all those who participated in the hunt for Captain Kitt’s treasure, and for any feedback you may provide us! Even with such a monumental discovery, there’s bound to be more of the infamous pirate’s treasure out there… with any luck, we might just uncover more hints about his legacy some time in the future!

Feedback Survey Results
Overview

In total, we had 220 responses to our feedback survey for this event.

  • The majority of participants (84%) preferred the play at your own pace style as opposed to the daily challenge style of previous similar events.
  • Most players (68%) felt that the event’s duration was appropriate, with a slight majority of the remaining responses indicating that they felt as though it was a bit too long. This is likely due in part to the play at your own pace style, which allowed players to finish everything in a single day if they wished.
  • 68% felt that the amount of effort required to achieve the maximum number of prizes was appropriate, with a majority of the remaining responses indicating that it required too much effort.
  • Overall, 37% of players felt as though this event’s difficulty was too high, while 50% felt as though the difficulty was appropriate.
  • The two clear favorites out of this event’s activities were the hexagon game and the logic puzzle, while players enjoyed Spellstones and the crossword puzzle the least.
  • The majority of players felt as though the instructions for this event were clear, with 88% of responses rating it at 3 or higher.
  • 94% of those who provided feedback enjoyed the event as a whole.
Common Comments

There was lots of love for the hexagon game and mastermind.
Many of you stated that you wished to see these two activities become regular site games, and we are happy to inform you that this is definitely possible! :) Glitch doesn’t have a timeframe for when they will appear, but they are officially on the to-do list.

A number of players expressed that an activity (namely Spellstones) was too difficult for them.
There were good suggestions made by a number of you which aimed at making aspects of the event more accessible — some of it very specific to the activity, and other general suggestions (like adding more flexibility in activity choices) — that we will play around with.

A lot of you had trouble with the Spellstones requirement.  We hear you!  This game is especially is difficult for some of our players and we will adjust requirements accordingly if it pops up in future events.

Love/hate with play at your own pace.
A few of you expressed that you liked play at your own pace (so much so that you finished it all in one day) and then had to twiddle your thumbs the rest of the event, making it feel too long.  Figuring out how to make the event’s duration more exciting while incorporating aspects of play at your own pace is something that will be worth exploring!

Thank you all for taking time to give us feedback! It’s very helpful to see the event’s strengths and weaknesses so that we can make even better events for you! <3

We will pull the raffle tonight utilizing the code that we use for normal raffles, so keep an eye out!

A potential fix for the issue of people blasting through all the activities in the first day of a play-at-your-own-pace event would be to release activities as the event goes on, rather than all at once, but have them all released by maybe about the halfway point of the event so that there’s still plenty of time for everyone else to finish the ones that are released later.
