Heyooooooooooo O/

You can call me Lucky and I’m an enthusiast of all sorts of petsites! If you recognize my name from somewhere, we’ve probably crossed paths at some point. Feel free to ping me in any forum thread or shoot me DMs out of nowhere, I always try to be helpful!

I have a degree in mortuary science, an obsession with cows and dairy products, and a general passion for ecological biology. My three favorite animals are longhorn cattle breeds, spotted hyenas, and medicinal leeches. If not stopped, I will infodump endlessly about whatever thing my brain has decided I’m going to learn about that week.

- YES You can ping me.
- YES You can DM me.
- YES I’d love to talk about connecting the lore of my OCs to yours.
- NO I will not add you on Discord, sorry. If we talk enough I may offer it to you, but please don’t ask.

————————— WIP Cavern Lore ——————————-
CONTENT WARNING!

Some of the lore in this cavern might be a little unsettling because of how much I like saprotrophic and parasitic fungi; basically, mushrooms that eat decaying matter and those that leech off living things. Nut disco, king alfred’s cakes, and dead man’s fingers are my little shnookums. I don’t plan on writing gore, or even that much violence at all, but these topics might squick you out if you’re sensitive to such themes!

Also; some of these Mycenians are consuming recreational magic potions. I wouldn’t necessarily describe it as substance “abuse” but there’s definitely substances being used. Substance contact sports? Substance gentle caress.

————————— History ——————————-

- Pistachio was a wandering one-person doomspeaker, she speaks critically of the Sorcerer and has an irrevocable belief that the Mycenians were buried alive.
- Shortly after she was carved, she would hide out in a cavern that was barely more than a niche. Obsessed with making memory potions, this toxic enclave was hazy with alchemical smog, caked with cauldron dust.
- Eventually she is joined by others, and by some means, the niche is being dug out into a full cave.
- They’re usually referred to as “Converts” even though not all of them fully agree with her. They agree enough to be associated with the heretic, and that’s enough.
- May strike into hidden “pockets” within the rock that contributed an ecosystem, OR it might have been gardened very deliberately. Undecided.
- Expansion may start as a deliberate attempt to dig to the surface, or an accident caused by Pistachio’s unsafe workshop, or just some of her converts feeling that they needed more space.
- In any case, it’s a rather dim cavern.

————- NON-CANON STUFF ———-

(Adding in some headcanon lore about the world. Some of this may slightly contradict canon material.)

- This cavern plays with Bone Monster on hard mode. It has been buffed. Sneaking out mechanic has been nerfed. Bone Monster perception radius increased by 500%.
- Bone Monster also has new allies: both Mycenian “minions” who have made a sacred vow to share its post, and skeletal beasts that the Bone Monster can create by temporarily plucking out one of its ribs. These are humorously called “riblets.”
- Those who sneak out in Spring aren’t able to get far.
- For some, however, being captured by the minions and riblets and dragged back into the cave is a right of passage. Like the Bone Monster, these creatures don’t seem to intend harm.
- Of course, accidents happen.

- When a crack in the roof of upper caverns is made, the sunlight only comes through for a short time. Like a wound, the rock will repair itself.
- All three major classifications of rock have a corresponding “biological pattern” when exposed to magic. Igneous is skin. Metamorphic is muscle. Sedimentary is bone.
- Cave-ins are especially common when there are magic spikes because rock that develops a strong biopattern stops binding with non-magic rock.
- Unknown to Mycenian magiscience at this point in time, the Bone Monster has a connection to sedimentary rock within its sphere of influence. This is what gives it such a ridiculously far perception range, as most of the caves are limestone.

- There is actually something suspicious about the Great Winter narrative, but ‘sTash is probably not completely accurate either.
- Guiding philosophy; none of her converts are 100% right. But most of them are onto something. They have a combined sense of wisdom and insight, but no one is totally correct.
- Potions cannot totally restore memory. Some believe this is because the memories are being suppressed, others believe the memories have been lost completely. It’s not known why.
- However, this doesn’t stop people from drinking them daily. 99% of all memory potion drinkers give up before unlocking all their memories LOL
