Children:

Calkos

The impacts of the Spellplague stretched far beyond Calkos’ lifetime. Over the past thirty years, Ainharad struggled to heal itself. Meanwhile, the newest generation struggles with a mercurial world of a mutable future.

Since his exile and expulsion from the Underdark, Calkos has been wandering surface-side. Avoiding conflict, Calkos kept to the wilderness. He preferred the isolation — or at least, it was a comforting familiarity. Calkos quickly fell into his new reality: he learned to hunt and to track, to spy, and to shoot. And through a series of fateful events, he found orphans in the northern Spellscarred Wastes.

They were children, barely clothed, wasting away, another forgotten casualty of the plague. Calkos held onto them, bound them close. Perhaps he did so out of genuine, good feeling and not pity ... so that the world would finally stay still around them.

Barely grown himself, Calkos called them his own. Kuuyya and Kyrie, in many ways, were his opposite in personality. Over time, Calkos lost some of his youthful audacity and assumed the role of a more cautious and conservative mentor. Had rumors of resurrected, evil god not reached them, Calkos was more than content to live out their small existence in the outskirts of Ainharad society.

tldr; calkos is a tired single mom who has to raise two children on his own and literally nothing they say or do surprises him anymore he is just living in a constant state of mild annoyance and deep resignation
