Cave Entrance

You have come upon the Cave Entrance. Just beyond the Cave’s gaping maw lies a world unexplored—at least, to you and the other Mycenians who have awoken within these endless tunnels. An endless blue sky, larger than any sliver you’ve ever seen through the stony gaps in the Cave’s stone; rolling hills and a breeze that carries upon it unfamiliar scents and the promise of adventure.

And where do you think you’re going?

The growl is like something from the earth itself, deep and rumbling. It rattles through your mind like an unbidden thought, more of a feeling than actual sound. A large, hulking form rises to block the opening, heavily shadowed with the sunlight at its back. You can make out glowing eyes set in the empty sockets of a massive skull; dry bones stitched together by bluish wisps of magic.

As one large, skeletal paw steps toward you, you stumble back—scramble briefly against the dirt, and skitter behind a nearby rock. The Bone Monster stands sentinel for several long moments, as though awaiting any challenge to its post. Finally, once it seems certain that none will attempt to slip by it, it settles, and once more appears to be nothing more than a pile of bones and rubble.
